It is a functional Armenian Apostolic Church. Czech architecture and scientist Joseph Glavka has projected for Armenian Community the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Chernovtsy. Construction of the Church was completed in October 1875. Thanks to wonderful acoustics the Church was originally used for evenings of liturgical singing, organ was also installed there. The Armenian Church functioned prior to Soviet government. The Church was closed after 1944. In 1986 the building of the Armenian Church was passed along Chernovtsy philharmonic hall for organ music. In 1988 the building of Church was reconstructed. From 2008 sustainable divine service of the year was restored. Thanks to wonderful acoustics and organ the Church building is used for concerts and other cultural events.
Prior to Soviet government in Bukovina sculptures of the Holy Peter and Paul decorated the entrance into the Armenian Church. Then they disappeared. Within the period of Ukraine independence they were found, renovated and returned to the Church. Ceremony of sculptures consecration was held in July 2010.
The Church has been listed as a building secured by government.
Today Armenian Sunday school functions under the patronage of the Church where children of believers study cultural and spiritual heritage of Armenia.
